Privacy Policy

At devtoolspack, privacy isn't just a policy—it's the core of our architecture. We believe your data should stay yours.

No Data Leaves Your Browser

Unlike most developer tools, devtoolspack does not use server-side processing for your data. 100% of the computation happens locally on your device. When you paste code, format JSON, or generate hashes, that information stays inside your browser's memory and is never transmitted to us or any third party.

Introduction

devtoolspack ("we," "us," or "our") provides a suite of web-based utilities for developers. This transparency statement explains our technical approach to data privacy. Because we built this platform on a "Privacy by Design" philosophy, we intentionally receive as little information about you as possible.

Data Collection & Processing

We do not collect, store, or transmit:

  • Personal Identifiable Information (PII)
  • Content processed through our tools
  • File contents or metadata
  • Source code or database schemas

Cookie Policy

devtoolspack does not use first-party cookies to track your behavior. However, third-party services we use for basic site operation and sustainability may use cookies:

Functional Storage

We may use the browser's localStorage to store your theme preference (Dark/Light mode) and tool settings. This data remains on your device and is never sent to our servers.

Third-Party Cookies

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to your website or other websites. See the "Third-Party Services" section below for details.

Third-Party Services

Google AdSense

We use Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visit to our site and/or other sites on the Internet. You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ad Settings.

Google Analytics (Gtag)

We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate, non-personal usage patterns (e.g., which tools are most popular). This helps us prioritize which tools to improve. We have configured Google Analytics to anonymize IP addresses.

Cloudflare

Our site is hosted and secured by Cloudflare. They may collect basic HTTP request logs (IP, User Agent) for security and performance purposes. This is standard for modern web infrastructure. Review Cloudflare's Privacy Policy for more.

Data Retention

Since we do not store your data, there is no retention period for information processed through our tools. Once you close the browser tab or refresh the page, the data in the browser's memory is cleared. Third-party analytics data is subject to the retention policies of those respective services (typically 14-26 months for aggregate data).

GDPR Compliance Statement

For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), devtoolspack complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Our legal basis for processing is:

  • Direct Processing: We do not process personal data; therefore, no consent is required for the tools themselves.
  • Third-Party Services: Consent for cookies is managed through our third-party providers. You have the right to access, rectify, or erase any personal information held by third parties (like Google).

Because we do not store personal data, we are unable to fulfill "Right to Access" requests for processing history—as that history simply does not exist on our systems.

Your Trust is Our Greatest Asset

"We built devtoolspack because we were tired of tools that asked for permissions they didn't need. We promise to keep it this way."
